The House at 0 27

With the idea of opening the doors of our house to the public, it functioned as a permanent and temporary living space/home for more than 20 artists, with events, work workshops, exhibitions, a shared kitchen, meetings, poetry and literature, artistic installations, artistic interventions, salon presentations and music rehearsals. Continually changing and metamorphosing, the house itself was an ongoing art installation. Breaking the traditional boundaries of “what spaces are private and what is public" when you live to make art.

During Anibal Lopez A-1 53167 (1964-2014) time as resident artiste at 0-27, Anibal produced numerous pieces including the series " Se Presta" Se Regala" " Se Verde", "Liston Negro", and "Este Texto no tiene ningún significado" on site.

Over the span of three years, the house underwent numerous transformations, evolving completely as entire rooms became temporary installations. These spaces were muraled, graffitied, and repainted utilized by over 14 artists that rotated through, living and creating on-site. Trumpet practice resounding throughout the space, a monocycle being learned, a room completely powdered white with marble dust, a musician editing songs, poets meeting for writing groups, all feeding off one another to conceive new art.
